Adult Foster Care
Many older adults and adults with disabilities need some level of supervision and personal care, but don’t require extensive nursing care. While many people in this situation live with family members who can provide this care, that isn’t always possible. That’s where agency-supervised private family homes come in. These homes provide an alternative living arrangement where individuals can become part of a family and community. They share in the interaction and responsibilities of being a member of a family, which can be a comforting and enriching experience. Depending on the specific home, individuals may receive specialized care for developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s, mental health issues, and more. Licensing requirements vary, so it’s important to research options in your area. It’s heartening to know that such a compassionate and community-focused care option exists for those who need it.

The program encourages individuals to take control of their lives by allowing them to live independently or with a roommate. Our team does not take over and make decisions for them; instead, we provide support when needed. We believe in building on each individual’s strengths and helping them become self-sufficient. The program gives individuals a chance to learn valuable skills like cooking dinner or managing finances, allowing them to take the reins of their lives.
